From my /etc/crontab:

0       6       *       *       *       root    /usr/sbin/portsnap cron
update
0       7       *       *       *       root    /usr/sbin/portsnap -p
/usr/jails/basejail/usr/ports update

But you can also run ezjail-admin update -P to fetch and extract ports.
